on queerness.

apologies for falling short on updating every week. videos & pics for week 3 & 4 will hit ya’ll with a blast of fierceness next week! look out for 3 new folks…

so…i organized an lgbtqi workshop yesterday complete with queerly beautiful co-facilitators & panelists and found myself wondering throughout the day: why would anyone in this world think otherwise? we are beautiful.

i cannot fathom the fear and hatred that people have towards us. &i’m talking about qpoc particularly. i can’t remember how i came to this point of awakening… to the reality that the dichotomies that boxed my life for years are oppressive, colonial constructs.

i spent eight hours yesterday wondering how one day, sometime ago, i came to understand  that nothing is one or the “other”, man or woman, man and woman, neither man or woman, genderfull, trans, non-gendered, gender non conforming, etc… maybe it came from the love i have for my partner & the all the beautiful trans & genderqueer people who have come into my life.

why do we have to try so hard, come out everyday or hide for survival? do you think i want to worry about what i wear everyday won’t prompt unwanted attention & plan out the safest route to get home?

if i compelled just one, just one person yesterday to wake up & realize that by disregarding someone’s pronouns ultimately negates their very existence as human beings and potentially leads to violence against them, then maybe i will feel more optimistic about people.
